About The Position

Spellbook is looking for a Legal Solutions Architect to serve as our in-house legal expert and product strategist. This is a unique opportunity for a transactional lawyer who wants to step beyond the billable hour and into a high-impact role at the intersection of legal practice, product design, and sales enablement. You’ll work closely with our Sales and Product teams to ensure Spellbook solves the real-world challenges faced by lawyers. Your background in transactional law—especially if you’ve seen both sides of the table (private practice and in-house)—will enable you to bridge the gap between legal workflows and technical execution. If you're energized by legal tech, passionate about improving how lawyers work, and excited to scale your impact across hundreds of legal teams, we’d love to meet you.

Requirements

  • A qualified lawyer with 3–5 years of transactional experience, ideally with a mix of law firm and in-house exposure.
  • Deep familiarity with contract negotiation, drafting, and review workflows.
  • An understanding of Large Language Models within the modern AI landscape
  • A natural self-starter with strong product instincts—you’re excited to build, iterate, and drive things forward without waiting for a playbook.
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally with product managers, engineers, sales teams, and external customers.
  • Strong communicator with experience presenting to legal and business audiences (bonus points if you’ve led CLEs or training).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with or at a legal tech or SaaS company.
  • Familiarity with sales processes, RFPs, or customer enablement in a B2B setting.
  • Technical curiosity or experience working with product/engineering teams.

Responsibilities

  • Join sales calls, demos, and RFPs as a legal expert. Help AEs in the sales process through training, tailored guidance and strategy.
  • Develop playbooks and training materials for in-house legal teams. Transform these into refined product training packs, comprehensive documentation, and impactful thought-leadership content.
  • Represent Spellbook in webinars, CLE sessions, and industry events, showcasing your legal expertise and our product leadership.
  • Translate real-world transactional workflows into actionable product features and enhancements.
  • Participate in feature discovery, development and testing, translating customer insights into clear product requirements.
  • Support with other responsibilities and projects as required.

Benefits

  • Embrace autonomy and accountability in a flexible work environment; we focus on outcomes and empower you to determine how to get the job done
  • Access our company-paid group benefits for you and your family, with $1,000 towards mental health support
  • Disconnect during our holiday closure and take advantage of our generous time off policies throughout the year
  • Enjoy monthly paid meals, an annual wellness allowance to support your well-being and parental leave top-ups as your family grows
  • Secure your stake in our success; you’ll receive competitive stock option grants as a pivotal early employee
