Stark & Stark is actively recruiting for a Legal Secretary based in our Hamilton, NJ office. Requirements

  • At least 3-5 years of law firm experience.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office is a must.
  • Self-directed, and detail oriented with a high level of accuracy.
  • Able to organize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of discretion, judgment, confidentiality, professional and ethical standards in communications with both external and internal parties.
  • Well organized and able to see an assignment through to successful conclusion.
  • Self-directed; able to think analytically and solve problems with little direction.
  • Able to demonstrate a customer service demeanor regardless of the person or issue at hand.
  • Ability to learn and adapt to emerging technologies in the legal field.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in complex civil litigation matters is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of NetDocuments is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Format and revise legal documents such as pleadings, motions, subpoenas, notices, lien-related filings, and correspondence in accordance with court rules and Firm standards.
  • Prepare, proofread, and finalize filings for state and federal courts, including electronic court filing and service, ensuring compliance with applicable rules and deadlines.
  • Coordinate and schedule depositions, client meetings, site inspections, mediations, and court appearances, including conference rooms and related logistics.
  • Professionally answer and handle phone calls and act as client liaison on practice matters.
  • Handle miscellaneous administrative duties such as composing correspondence, copying, filing, faxing, mailing, and handling general office duties as needed.
  • Process expense reimbursements as needed.
  • Sort and distribute department mail.
  • Handle other responsibilities as directed.
