The DA Legal Secretary I position in the office provides administrative support in the County Court, Juvenile Court or Intake divisions within the Weld County District Attorney's Office. This role involves performing complex duties such as typing documents, correspondence, reports, and case files with technical terminology and accuracy. The position also includes electronically filing motions, verifying dockets, ordering and maintaining tracking of evidence and reports, producing subpoenas, and managing discovery. Establishing and maintaining filing systems, data entry of dispositions and sentences, and updating court events into the case management system are key responsibilities. The role also requires obtaining NCIC/CCIC criminal histories and certified copies of convictions, acting as a liaison with law enforcement agencies and defense attorneys, and answering public inquiries. Additionally, the position involves operating office equipment, communicating problems to superiors, and performing related work as required. Other duties may include front desk reception coverage, coverage for other legal assistants/office technicians, and special projects as assigned.
