About The Position

The Legal Secretary 2 provides legal secretarial and office administrative support requiring considerable knowledge of legal procedures, forms, and documents. This role provides legal secretary support to Board attorneys, prepares a variety of complex legal correspondence using technical knowledge and expertise, and completes legal notices and forms. This position may offer the ability to work remotely, within Arizona, based upon the department's business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures. The State of Arizona strives for a work culture that affords employees flexibility, autonomy, and trust. Requirements

  • High school or equivalent
  • At least 5 years of Legal Secretary experience
  • At least 1 year of Google Suite experience
  • Knowledge of Arizona Nurse Practice Act, general administrative law and policies and procedures for case management.
  • Skills in Microsoft Windows, Google Suite, Word, Excel, computer-based case management systems and portals, as well as office equipment.
  • Skills in English grammar and usage, in addition to legal and medical terminology sufficient to effectively prepare orders, decisions and correspondence.

Responsibilities

  • Answers a variety of inquiries concerning the progress of investigations or legal actions.
  • Completes data entry in ORBS/electronic databases and maintains follow-up records relating to department legal matters; creates simple forms and surveys; and electronically files document submissions and Board documents.
  • Receives and screens a variety of correspondence and telephone calls.
  • Provides guidance and technical direction to other board employees as requested; provides back up support in taking and preparing Board Meeting and committee minutes; and provides staff support for committees as assigned.
