About The Position

Manage delinquent loan accounts, collect overdue payments, and recover collateral to protect credit union assets. Communicate and negotiate with members to resolve delinquent accounts while maintaining professionalism. Ensure collection activities comply with applicable regulations, policies, and procedures. Use organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills to prioritize accounts, meet deadlines, and achieve collection goals.

The role preserves the credit union’s assets by controlling delinquent loan accounts, collecting delinquent loan payments, and/or recovering collateral.

Requirements

• Three to five years of similar or related experience.
• A two-year college degree, specialized certification or licensing, specialized vendor training, or job-specific skills acquired through work experience.
• Understanding of applicable regulations and procedures.
• Excellent listening and communication abilities, including above-average negotiating skills.
• Strong attention to detail; well organized and goal oriented in a high-paced work environment.
• Critical thinking, decision-making, and learning skills.
• Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and manage multiple responsibilities.
• Ability to operate related computer software and business equipment provided by the credit union.
• Professionalism in appearance, dress, and attitude.
• Strong mathematical skills.
• Ability to work as a team member and embrace the credit union philosophy and its Mission, Vision, and Core Values.

• Knowledge of accounts payable and receivable is helpful.
