About The Position

The Legal Project Specialist, Labor and Employment provides foundational legal and project support to Safelite’s in-house employment counsel. This role supports day-to-day execution of employment legal matters, including litigation support, agency charges, discovery, and records requests. The Legal Project Specialist is comfortable working independently, has core employment law knowledge, and develops proficiency in legal processes, systems, and documentation standards.

Requirements

• Associate or Bachelor Degree
• 2-4 years Required Experience supporting legal, compliance, human resources, employee relations, or litigation-related work
• Working knowledge of employment litigation processes and agency procedures
• Organization, document management, and recordkeeping
• Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Legal matter management, document management, or e-discovery systems
• Written and verbal communication
• Attention to detail and quality control
• Ability to follow established processes and meet deadlines
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and shifting priorities
• Confidentiality and sound judgment when handling sensitive information
• Collaboration with legal counsel and internal business partners
• Research, issue spotting, and preparation of clear factual summaries
• Continuous learning and development of employment law knowledge

Nice To Haves

• Paralegal certificate from an accredited program
• Experience with employment litigation processes, agency charges, subpoenas, records requests, or discovery.
• Experience working with legal matter management, document management, or e-discovery systems.
• Experience working with HRIS platforms, including Workday, or comparable systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the investigation and response to federal and state employment charges, lawsuits, claims, and attorney demand letters; collect, organize, and prepare data and documents for subpoenas, records requests, and discovery, including e-discovery.
• Draft basic correspondence, memoranda, and employment agreements under the direction of legal counsel.
• Maintain and organize records for employment matters in the legal matter management system, serve as case administrator for assigned matters, and support departmental projects and responses to inquiries from counsel and internal partners.
• Monitor, triage, and respond to inquiries received through the Legal Department mailbox, incoming mail, and CSC portal.
• Complete basic employment law research to respond to inquiries from the business.
• Other duties assigned by management.
