About The Position

Weber Gallagher is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Legal Practice Assistant to join our firm in our Coral Gables office, with a focus on general civil litigation defense, particularly in the area of tort law and defense of first party litigation. This is a unique opportunity to become an integral part of a dynamic team, where you will have the chance to support experienced attorneys, and contribute meaningfully to the growth and success of our firm. As a Legal Practice Assistant your work will directly support the firm's litigation team, and you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in tort litigation and first party claims, providing you with invaluable insight into the legal process and a chance to develop your skill set. We are looking for a candidate who is not only technically proficient but also eager to take on more responsibility and grow in the profession. Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in defense litigation.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organization skills.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to meet all deadlines and prioritize workload.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams of attorneys, legal staff, court staff, clients, expert witnesses, etc.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, required.
  • Ability to work well independently and collaborate effectively in a team setting.
  • Ability to work a hybrid schedule, 4 days on-site in our Coral Gables office.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or Paralegal Certificate from an ABA approved organization, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist attorneys in all aspects of general civil litigation defense.
  • File legal documents with Florida Courts in accordance with local rules.
  • Draft legal documents, including petitions, motions, discovery requests, medical summaries, etc.
  • Coordinate and schedule hearings, depositions, and other meetings as assigned.
  • Manage and track expenses.
  • Organize and maintain client files, ensuring all records are up to date and properly stored.
  • Review and summarize case documentation.
  • Provide litigation support, as needed.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
