About The Position

The Legal Operations Professional supports the DePuy Synthes Legal Organization by enabling systems, processes and technology tools to operationalize vendor invoicing and payment, matter management, training and learning resources, communications, knowledge management and document archives. This role works closely with attorneys, paralegals, other legal professional associates and Information Technology and Finance functions to support operational effectiveness of the Legal Organization. The position plays a key role in improving how the Legal Organization delivers services and how it uses technology to increase output and enhance efficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (Business, Legal Studies, Finance, Operations, or related field).
  • 2–4 years of professional experience in legal operations, legal support, business operations, project or office management or a related function.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a private law firm, supporting a Legal department or working with legal matter management systems.
  • Exposure to legal billing, budgeting, or vendor management processes.
  • Familiarity with process improvement or continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Comfort working with data, reports, and dashboards.
  • Paralegal , Legal Operations or Project Management certifications preferred, not .

Responsibilities

  • Support day‑to‑day legal operations activities, including matter intake, tracking, and reporting.
  • Assist with legal vendor and outside counsel coordination, including onboarding, documentation, and performance tracking.
  • Maintain and support legal systems, databases, and tools to ensure data accuracy and compliance.
  • Prepare reports, dashboards, and analyses to support legal leadership decision‑making.
  • Assist in the development and documentation of legal processes, workflows, and standard operating procedures.
  • Support budgeting, invoice review, and financial tracking activities for the Legal function.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional partners (e.g., Finance, Compliance, Procurement, IT) on legal operations initiatives.
  • Uphold Johnson & Johnson’s Credo and apply ethical business practices in all interactions.
