About The Position

Monolithic Power Systems, Inc. (MPS) is a rapidly growing leader in the Semiconductor industry, specializing in Integrated Power Semiconductors and Systems Power delivery architectures. We foster creativity, prioritize sustainability, and are dedicated to delivering innovative products. This role is for a seasoned Legal Operations leader with a proven ability to build and enhance operational infrastructure within a legal department. The ideal candidate will own the systems, workflows, data, and support personnel, demonstrating a proactive approach to identifying and improving processes. This position requires a blend of strategic thinking, capable of engaging in high-level discussions with the General Counsel, and practical, hands-on system configuration skills.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of progressive legal operations experience.
  • At least 2 years of managerial experience with direct reports.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing or managing CLM, DMS, PMS, Legal Research tools, or e-billing platforms from selection through adoption.
  • Hands-on knowledge of legal tech tools – familiarity with ContractPodAI, Harvey AI, Epiq, or comparable systems is a strong plus.
  • Experience managing legal operations in a high-volume environment (law firm, corporate legal department, or both).
  • Strong ability to prioritize and manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong ability to collaborate effectively across teams and work with various stakeholders and business partners across the organization.
  • Ability to draft, redline, and negotiate contracts independently.
  • Expertise with Microsoft Office Suite applications (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and TEAMS).
  • Strong financial acumen: budget ownership, invoice review, and P&L responsibility.
  • Proven track record of building or restructuring legal operations, not just managing them.
  • Ability to drive innovation and adapt to evolving business needs.
  • Clear, direct communication style – ability to explain legal risk to a lawyer, non-lawyer, and operational tradeoffs to a GC.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience enhancing output and efficiency in a performing legal department through performance optimization.
  • Personal experience implementing a new technology system (not just managing the vendor).
  • Experience building reporting infrastructure that changed leadership's understanding of the legal function.
  • Experience managing and supporting both attorneys and non-attorney staff.
  • Paralegal and litigation experience.
  • Ability to identify and solve process gaps to improve efficiency and scalability.

Responsibilities

  • Own the full Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) program, including intake, negotiation, approval, execution, and renewal.
  • Select, implement, and optimize CLM tooling, eDiscovery platforms, and Legal Research tools.
  • Serve as an internal subject matter expert on contract risk, rights, and obligations across business units.
  • Lead the evaluation, selection, and rollout of legal department technology, such as DMS, Legal Research tools, e-billing, matter management, and AI tools.

  • Design and implement sustainable process controls.
  • Lead cross-functional projects and internal communications to ensure legal team organization and business alignment.
  • Own budget forecasting, vendor and Outside Counsel invoicing, and P&L accountability for the legal operations function.
