About The Position

Intrinsic, an AI robotics group at Google, aims to reimagine industrial robotics by making it intelligent, accessible, and usable for more businesses, entrepreneurs, and developers. The Legal Operations Lead will support Intrinsic and other Alphabet portfolio projects, including Tapestry, by developing and scaling processes that enable legal teams to deliver efficient, consistent, high-quality services. The role provides shared legal operations support across multiple teams and partners with legal, finance, business development, revenue, marketing, compliance, and operations stakeholders. It oversees contract lifecycle management, legal technology, outside counsel billing, budgets, knowledge management, and operational reporting. The position also identifies and implements AI and automation opportunities, standardizes processes while accommodating each organization’s needs, and improves workflow connectivity through technology integrations.

Requirements

BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience.
At least 5 years of experience managing legal operations, preferably within a technology company, startup, or high-growth environment.
Experience with contract lifecycle management systems, commercial contracting workflows, and legal technology platforms.
Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional projects, improving operational processes, and implementing scalable solutions.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to independently manage competing priorities across multiple teams in a fast-paced environment while exercising sound judgment and discretion.

Nice To Haves

Experience leveraging AI-powered tools, automation platforms, or emerging legal technologies to optimize legal workflows and improve operational efficiency.
Experience with Ironclad or similar contract lifecycle management platforms.
Experience with API integration, including structuring requests, parsing JSON and YAML responses, and using automation scripts or platforms to connect systems.
Experience working independently and collaboratively with attorneys on contract interpretation, negotiation, review, and document organization.
Experience supporting legal operations across multiple business units, subsidiaries, or shared-services environments.

Responsibilities

Manage the contract lifecycle management platform and improve commercial contracting processes through playbooks, templates, guidance materials, standardized approval workflows, and self-service resources.
Identify, evaluate, and implement AI-powered tools and automation to streamline legal workflows, accelerate contract management, reduce manual work, and improve operational efficiency; partner with stakeholders to support responsible adoption.
Integrate legal technology platforms with existing business systems using APIs, structured data, and automation.
Partner with legal, finance, business development, revenue, marketing, and compliance stakeholders across participating organizations to develop scalable processes and support business growth.
Establish consistent legal intake, contracting, documentation, and prioritization processes across portfolio teams while accommodating organization-specific requirements.
Serve as a primary contact for legal vendors, outside counsel, and technology providers, handling onboarding, relationship management, troubleshooting, and performance oversight.
Manage legal team financial operations, including invoice collection and payment, budgeting, forecasting, outside counsel billing, and analysis of spending trends.
Support legal team onboarding, learning and development programs, team offsites, knowledge management, records management, and other operational initiatives.
Develop reporting to track legal requests, contract status, turnaround times, and operational performance; identify bottlenecks and implement process improvements.
Standardize and scale legal operations across multiple teams while applying independent judgment, initiative, and attention to detail.
