Freelance Legal Interpreter - Immigration Proceedings
About The Position
We are seeking experienced legal interpreters to provide remote interpretation services for U.S. immigration court hearings. Spanish is a high-volume language on this contract, offering steady assignments year-round with the flexibility to accept as many cases as you’d like. This is a 100% remote role for U.S.-based interpreters, with no travel or onsite requirements. Interpreters will support hearings across multiple U.S. time zones. Typical assignment length is 2.5–4.5 hours. Hearing types may include asylum, removal, credible fear, bond hearings, and related proceedings. Services provided include simultaneous interpretation, consecutive interpretation, and sight translation in a judicial setting.
Requirements
- U.S. citizen or lawfully admitted for permanent residence
- At least one year of experience interpreting in a judicial environment
- Ability to interpret for immigration courts
- Spanish language proficiency (high volume)
- Turkish language proficiency
- Hindi language proficiency
- Punjabi language proficiency
- Nepalese language proficiency
- Haitian Creole language proficiency
