About The Position

Join us for the 2026 Summer Internship Season! This internship offers a unique opportunity to learn the specifics of condemnation law, applying general knowledge from academic studies. You will also gain experience in SAD law, county road law, and other relevant statutory provisions (FOIA, Open Meetings Act, etc.) and understand how they apply to the agency’s work. Interns will assist the legal department team members with various projects, aid in contract review and drafting, and conduct research as directed. Participation in agency internship program activities, including an end-of-summer presentation, is also expected.

Requirements

  • Available to work 20-25 hours a week during RCOC standard hours of operation (Monday-Friday, 9:30-2:30)
  • The ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Strong organization and time management skills
  • Strong accuracy and attention to detail
  • Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook proficiency required
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States
  • Valid Driver’s License

Nice To Haves

  • Second year law school student that has completed Property Law and Contract Law classes preferred

Responsibilities
