The Cabrini Program provides legal services to vulnerable immigrant populations, including unaccompanied minors, DREAMers, Afghan asylum seekers, and survivors of violent crimes. Legal Interns support attorneys and accredited representatives through legal research, case preparation, client communication, and administrative tasks. All client facing activities are completed under supervision to ensure accuracy, compliance, and professional development. This internship is designed to provide practical, supervised experience in immigration law and nonprofit legal services. Interns will have the opportunity to gain exposure to active immigration cases, legal filings, and court-related documentation; develop legal writing, research, interviewing, and case preparation skills; receive mentorship from attorneys, accredited representatives, and experienced legal staff; build competency in trauma-informed, culturally responsive client service; gain familiarity with petitions, applications, motions, and case management systems; and participate in internal training, including the organization’s three day Immigration Law Boot Camp series.
