About The Position

The Legal Intern supports the daily operations of the Legal Department and gains hands-on exposure to legal, risk management, contract administration, claims support, and corporate litigation matters in a fast-paced business environment. This role is intended to provide practical experience related to legal research, claims tracking, contract review, litigation support, and cross-functional collaboration with internal business partners and external stakeholders. The position works under the direction of the General Counsel and/or Assistant General Counsel and receives guidance and training throughout the assignment.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from an accredited college or university.
  • Pursuing a degree in pre-law, legal studies, political science, business, public policy, or a related field.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities while working independently.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Provide general support to the Legal Department in the areas of claims management, contract administration, litigation support, and risk-related matters.
  • Maintain and update legal matters, claims files, and support documentation within internal systems and databases.
  • Prepare clear written summaries of claims, disputes, legal issues, contracts, and related business matters.
  • Assist with document organization, records management, and tracking legal and claims-related information.
  • Support insurance and contract-related requests through coordination with internal departments and external partners.
  • Conduct research on legal, regulatory, and compliance topics and summarize findings for attorney review.
  • Assist with the review and organization of contracts, litigation materials, reports, and correspondence.
  • Support ongoing legal and litigation matters by helping compile materials, summarize issues, and prepare internal working documents.
  • Participate in meetings with legal, risk, and business teams and assist with tracking action items and maintaining support reports.
  • Prepare recurring updates regarding assignments, project status, and workload.
  • Perform other related duties and special projects assigned.
