About The Position

Earthjustice's Office of General Counsel is seeking law students for a part-time legal intern position for spring 2027. This paid position offers the opportunity to work remotely within the U.S. or on a hybrid schedule from their San Francisco, CA or Washington, DC office. The Office of General Counsel provides risk mitigation, management, and compliance advice on various legal matters including corporate governance, contracts, legal ethics, privacy, and human resources. They collaborate with internal clients and external partners to minimize organizational risks while enabling goal achievement.

Requirements

  • Enrolled in law school as a 2L or 3L during spring 2027.
  • Excellent writing, research, analytical and organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with legal research tools, including Westlaw.
  • Strong work ethic, initiative, and ability to think creatively.
  • Ability to work collegially with others and independently.
  • Interest in public interest law and social justice.
  • Must commit to at least 15 hours/week for 12 weeks.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of environmental and administrative law is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Under the supervision of a licensed attorney, the legal intern will get exposure to any and all aspects of our non-profit work, including compliance, contract review, litigation, etc.
