About The Position

Opportunity Finance Network (OFN) is seeking a law student for its summer intern program. The Legal Intern will assist the EVP-General Counsel with legal research, document review, and memorandum writing on topics such as non-profit law, federal regulations, and court decisions. This internship aims to provide an educational experience, increasing knowledge of non-profits and community development financial institutions, and resulting in a usable writing sample. The internship is 6-8 weeks long, between May 25th and August 14th, and is part-time, requiring 25-35 hours per week. OFN will accommodate 4-week internships for students splitting their summer. OFN is a leading investment intermediary and network for CDFIs serving diverse communities across the United States, managing a large membership network and acting as a trusted investment partner. Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with document management systems, case management software, and legal research platforms is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-depth legal research on non-profit law, federal regulations, and court decisions.
  • Summarize and analyze non-profit law (formation, governance), federal regulations (agency rules), and court decisions (case analysis) and provide timely updates to the team.
  • Assist in preparing briefing materials, reports, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assist in the organization of meetings, events, and legal briefings.
