About The Position

Opportunity Finance Network (OFN) is seeking law student applicants for its summer intern program. The Legal Intern will assist the EVP-General Counsel by conducting legal research, reviewing documents, and writing memoranda on topics including non-profit law, federal regulations, and court decisions. Successful applicants will have an educational focus in their assignments and will gain knowledge of non-profits and community development financial institutions, along with a writing sample. The internship will last 6-8 weeks during the summer term (between May 25th and August 14th). This is a part-time position with an expectation of 25-35 hours weekly. OFN will consider 4-week internships for students splitting time with another summer internship. Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in law school

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with document management systems, case management software, and legal research platforms is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-depth legal research on non-profit law, federal regulations, and court decisions.
  • Summarize and analyze non-profit law (formation, governance), federal regulations (agency rules), and court decisions (case analysis) and provide timely updates to the team.
  • Assist in preparing briefing materials, reports, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assist in the organization of meetings, events, and legal briefings.
