About The Position

The Wabtec Diversity & Inclusion Legal Fellowship Program offers exposure to various practice areas within the Wabtec Legal team, depending on current needs. The fellow will have the opportunity to observe the dynamics of the legal team, engage with corporate executives from different functional departments, and interact with internal lawyers and outside counsel. A designated mentor within the legal department will provide guidance and constructive feedback on in-house legal work. The fellow will be responsible for internal legal matters and matters involving US law, engaging with corporate executives and legal professionals.

Requirements

Law degree and in good standing with state bar.
Expected graduate of one of our partnered law firms for this program.
GPA greater than or equal to 3.0/4.0 overall.
Authorized to work in one's country full-time without restrictions.
Ability to independently prioritize multiple tasks and work to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

Reviewing and updating Powers of Attorney, Non-Disclosure Agreements, and leases.
Performing first-level review of agreements.
Researching and collecting data.
Reviewing legislative trends, updating advice from external counsel, and communicating these to the legal team.
Implementing an early warning system for legislative trends.
Updating manual and digital repositories with the latest materials.
Promoting frequent use of repositories to ensure user awareness of key information and documents.
Scheduling, coordinating, and attending legal meetings, trainings, and events.
Supporting the legal team in process improvement initiatives aligned with business challenges.
Undertaking and arranging training on prepared materials for the benefit of the business.
Performing other ad-hoc activities as required.
Performing other duties outside of their function or trade, with adequate training provided if necessary.
