The Legal Director, focused on Civil Rights and Special Projects, will join three other Legal Directors reporting to the President and CEO, in close coordination with the Chief Program and Strategy Officer. This role is responsible for developing the strategic vision and staffing plan for the civil rights project, as well as developing and supervising civil rights-related matters and other significant affirmative litigation involving state and institutional actors. The position requires a J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar membership. It involves extensive litigation experience, team management, and a collaborative leadership style. The role also emphasizes building relationships with various networks, crafting legal strategies for complex social problems, and maintaining high standards of legal work.
