About The Position

Aramark is seeking Legal Counsel to join the Aramark Legal Department at Aramark’s headquarters in Philadelphia, PA. This role will work with the legal team supporting Aramark’s Corrections business unit by managing the intake process for legal review of Requests for Proposal (RFPs) and by preparing, reviewing, modifying, and negotiating contracts and amendments. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented and business-minded legal professional who brings not only strong expertise in RFP and contract review but also a keen understanding of business process improvement. The role is highly visible and will work directly with internal sales, financial and operational personnel within the business, and requires strong judgement, clear verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to balance risk with practical, solution-oriented guidance. The ideal candidate is comfortable managing competing priorities, collaborating cross-functionally, and translating complex legal concepts into actionable advice.

Requirements

  • B.A./B.S. required, J.D. optional
  • At least 2-4 years of relevant experience desired
  • Attention to detail and exceptional organization skills, with persistence and professionalism
  • Ability to work and think independently, possessing sound problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to prioritize workload, manage multiple projects, and work under time constraints
  • Responsive and client-service focused
  • Willingly accepts additional responsibility, challenging tasks, and/or projects
  • Strong drafting, communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills
  • Fully proficient in MS Office applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams

Responsibilities

  • Create initial drafts of a wide variety of contract documents, including services, outsourcing supplier and subcontractor agreements, utilizing templates and other standardized contract language.
  • Review, modify, and negotiate client and subcontractor contracts to comply with standard business terms.
  • Review and assist the business in preparing timely responses for RFPs, bids, and contractual modifications.
  • Draft memoranda, responses to RFPs, and other correspondence relating to contracting and RFP processes.
  • Oversee Freedom of Information Action (FOIA) request process from intake through response, including document collection, legal review, redaction, and delivery in accordance with statutory requirements.
  • Assist in resolving client disputes by preparing initial drafts of pre-litigation correspondence utilizing templates and other standardized language.
  • Demonstrate good judgment by identifying which contractual issues to elevate to the VP & Assistant General Counsel and when to independently manage internal negotiation and approval processes.
  • Oversee contract approval and execution, and manage contract database.
  • Other duties as may be requested by the Aramark Legal Department.
