About The Position

SITA Legal is a key enablement function that ensures SITA has the right to do business globally and helps get deals across the line. The legal team supports SITA and its colleagues to "Get to Yes" quickly, sustainably, ethically, and legally. This role specifically focuses on the Borders Business Unit, contributing to new technologies like digital travel and biometrics, and advising on AI, privacy, sanctions, and compliance. The Legal Counsel will guide the team on public procurement, manage external counsel relationships, play a key role in strategic deals, and assess legal risks. They will also prepare and deliver legal training and engage in international work across SITA's four regions, with worldwide travel being highly likely.

Requirements

  • Solid experience in a domain and/or broad experience over more than one domain.

  • Degree in Law.
  • Appropriate legal qualification (registered or licensed Attorney Lawyer Solicitor or Barrister) or similar international qualification.
  • English & Arabic Language is a must.

  • Guide the team on public procurement matters and direct engagements with governments.
  • Manage SITA’s relationship with local external counsel.
  • Play a key role in major strategic deals such as industry partnerships, consortia and joint ventures.
  • Work closely with an experienced and effective Contract Management team.
  • Assess and manage legal risks through SITA’s internal business approval processes.
  • Support on any informal and formal dispute resolution that is required.
  • Prepare and deliver legal training to help colleagues enhance their understanding of contractual and legal issues.
  • Be exposed to truly international work from all of SITA’s four regions: Europe, Middle East and Africa, Asia Pacific and The America.
