About The Position

ARQ is a fast-growing fintech focused on building infrastructure for moving value across borders. The US Legal Counsel will lead corporate and commercial legal matters across ARQ’s US entities, including holding, hiring/services, and infrastructure entities. The role focuses on US corporate governance, commercial contracts, financing, and credit lines, while ensuring compliance and alignment across US operations. The position is part of the Operations function, where team members are expected to contribute beyond their defined scope and priorities as needed.

Requirements

3–4 years of experience as a law firm associate, with exposure to corporate, commercial, or employment law.
Strong understanding of US corporate structure, venture financing, and credit lines.
Experience working with or strong cultural understanding of Latin American cross-border dynamics.
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
Active state bar admission in good standing.
Proactive mindset and ability to independently manage complex legal tasks across multiple entity types.
Excellent verbal and written communication in English.
Project management skills, including the ability to work independently, manage conflicting priorities, and meet established project deadlines.
Strong problem-solving skills, sound judgment, and ability to make decisions amid ambiguity.

Nice To Haves

Experience advising high-growth fintechs or startups on cross-border US/LatAm transactions.
Spanish or Portuguese language skills.

Responsibilities

Oversee legal governance, corporate maintenance, and compliance across US entities.
Draft, negotiate, and manage corporate transactions, financing agreements, equity matters, and credit lines.
Structure and negotiate US commercial partnerships, vendor contracts, and employment and service-provider agreements.
Contribute beyond the role’s defined scope and priorities as needed.
