About The Position

MRI Software is seeking a privacy attorney to provide strategic legal guidance on privacy, emerging technologies, risk, compliance, and AI governance. The role partners with the business to help shape innovation and build on the company’s established privacy and compliance programs. The position spans consumer privacy, cybersecurity, data governance, technology product counseling, and commercial operations, including commercial contracting as needed. The attorney will also support privacy and data security due diligence and handle sensitive matters with discretion and sound judgment.

Requirements

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Active bar membership in good standing, or regional equivalent.
• At least 3 years of experience in an in-house law department.
• At least 1 year focused on privacy law.
• Authorization to work in the applicable jurisdiction.
• Expertise in data governance, technology product counseling, privacy, compliance strategy development, and commercial operations.
• Working knowledge of global privacy frameworks.
• Ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into clear, actionable business guidance.
• Experience optimizing and scaling existing programs to meet evolving business needs.

Nice To Haves

• Management experience.
• CIPP certifications.

Responsibilities

• Advise business partners on global, state, and federal privacy, cybersecurity, and emerging AI laws.
• Evolve established privacy programs that support enterprise-wide compliance strategies.
• Support privacy and data security due diligence efforts.
• Advise on technology product development and commercial operations, including commercial contracting when needed.
• Handle sensitive and confidential matters with discretion, sound judgment, and professionalism.
• Take on new challenges as they arise.
