The Ontario Securities Commission (OSC) is the statutory body responsible for regulating Ontario’s capital markets in accordance with the mandate established in the provincial Securities Act and the Commodity Futures Act. The OSC's mandate includes protecting investors, fostering fair, efficient, and competitive capital markets, promoting confidence in capital markets, fostering capital formation, and contributing to financial system stability and risk reduction. This is achieved through policy, operational, and enforcement activities, and by contributing to national and global securities regulation development. The Corporate Finance Department, which regulates public companies and companies raising capital in the exempt market in Ontario and plays an active role in policy development, is seeking a Legal Counsel II.
