This position will join a small, rapidly growing global legal team, reporting directly to the General Counsel. In this role, the Legal Counsel will collaborate closely with the Revenue team, as well as customers, and partners on a wide range of commercial contracts. They will also provide legal guidance and support to the Finance, People, and Product teams. This position involves working with stakeholders across multiple regions, with a particular focus on taking a leading role in supporting LATAM operations. This role is based in SEON's U.S. headquarters in Austin, TX on a hybrid schedule.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school
  • U.S. State Bar member in good standing and eligible to practice law in Texas
  • 2+ years of relevant legal experience, preferably either at a Saas Technology company or law firm
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic SaaS company environment
  • Willingness to take active ownership of tasks and processes
  • Commitment to providing efficient high-quality service to internal customers
  • Working knowledge of and an interest in leveraging AI capabilities

Nice To Haves

  • Spanish and/or Portuguese fluency and any (legal or non-legal) experience in LATAM or other global business regions.

Responsibilities

  • Commercial contract review and negotiation: Review, draft, and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements in line with business and legal requirements.
  • Advise all business units on various legal issues: Provide clear, practical legal guidance to cross-functional teams across the organization.
  • Collaborate on internal system and process optimization: Support improvements to legal processes and tools to increase efficiency and scalability.
  • Supervise outside counsel and other legal support vendors: Oversee external legal partners to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and alignment with company needs.
  • Increase internal customer support satisfaction: Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and improve responsiveness and service delivery.
