Requirements

  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience supporting transactional attorneys in a legal administrative capacity at a law firm or in-house corporate legal department (in-house experience is a plus).
  • BA/BS required.
  • Transactional and legal experience required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be extremely accurate, and detail oriented.
  • Strong work ethic with high level of organization.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple project tasks within a fast-paced, high growth corporate retail organization.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with a variety of teams within the company.
  • Proactive and able to identify issues, legal risks and potential liabilities in order to report these matters to legal team members.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with contract/information management systems a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist company attorneys and compliance professionals with various facets of in-house legal department operations, including process intake and distribution, responding to record requests and government agency inquiries, matter management, and settlement payment processing
  • Assist in the completion of daily administrative tasks, including sorting and distributing physical mail for team, document signature management and filing/scanning legal related documents
  • Manage legal invoice processing via e-billing platform [Legal Tracker], including planning, tracking and analyzing legal expenses
  • Manage the company’s annual state registrations and track renewals
  • Provide general support to the legal team and assist with ad-hoc tasks and special projects
  • Work with members of Legal leadership, other attorneys and staff on departmental matters as needed
  • Additional duties and responsibilities as needed, including supporting various other legal operations work streams, meeting planning and preparation
