About The Position
LG Energy Solution Vertech, Inc. (LGESVT), a subsidiary of LG Energy Solution, provides grid-scale integrated energy storage systems. The Legal, Contracts & Compliance Co-Op assists the Legal Department’s contracts, compliance, and legal functions, helping business units and the company navigate commercial contracts, mitigate risks, and improve compliance. The role offers opportunities to develop skills in legal research, corporate compliance, contract negotiation, and drafting in a corporate legal setting, with both observational and participatory responsibilities. This is a hybrid position based in the company’s Westborough, Massachusetts office.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a law degree at an accredited law school.
- Must have completed the first year of law school (1L) before the start of the internship.
- Demonstrate curiosity, willingness to learn, and ability to apply foundational legal knowledge to real-world legal tasks.
- Have excellent collaboration, team-building, written communication, analytical, time-management, and organizational skills.
- Be adaptable, resourceful, humble, and collaborative, with openness to a dynamic workload.
Responsibilities
- Gain exposure to corporate legal matters, including legal document drafting, commercial contracts, corporate governance, ethics, and compliance.
- Assist with preparing and reviewing legal documents to verify accuracy and adherence to regulations, policies, and contracts.
- Research and analyze commercial laws and regulatory requirements to support commercial contracts.
- Help manage corporate records and legal databases to maintain data integrity and accessibility.
- Observe and participate in meetings with cross-functional teams.
- Work flexibly across different tasks, share ideas, and support the team as needed.
