About The Position

Software Finder is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Legal Associate to support the day-to-day operations of its legal function. This role will work closely with Legal Counsel on commercial contracts, legal research, regulatory monitoring, compliance documentation, corporate governance, dispute support, and legal operations. The ideal candidate will have strong legal research, writing, and contract-drafting capabilities, with an understanding of the legal and regulatory matters affecting technology and SaaS businesses. This position requires excellent organization, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple assignments under Legal Counsel’s supervision.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree from a reputable institution.
  • Valid licence to practise law or membership with the relevant Bar Council.
  • Minimum two years of relevant legal experience in an in-house, corporate, commercial, or law-firm environment.
  • Strong legal research, analytical, and professional writing skills.
  • Practical experience drafting, reviewing, and redlining commercial contracts.
  • Understanding of contract law, corporate law, commercial law, and regulatory compliance.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and ongoing matters under supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and document-management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with legal and non-legal stakeholders.
  • High standards of professional ethics, discretion, and confidentiality.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous legal experience within a technology, IT, software, or B2B SaaS organization.
  • Familiarity with SaaS-specific contracts, including subscription and licensing agreements, DPAs, SLAs, and MSAs.
  • Understanding of international data privacy frameworks, including the GDPR and CCPA.
  • Exposure to intellectual property, consumer protection, and technology-sector regulations.
  • Experience using contract lifecycle management, legal matter management, or document-management systems.
  • Familiarity with legal operations, contract repositories, matter tracking, and compliance reporting.
  • Experience developing legal templates, playbooks, checklists, and standard operating procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Legal Counsel in managing daily legal operations, workflows, incoming requests, deadlines, and matter tracking.
  • Maintain organized legal files, contract repositories, corporate records, and compliance documentation.
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of contract lifecycle management and legal matter management systems.
  • Develop and improve internal legal templates, contract playbooks, checklists, and standard operating procedures.
  • Conduct legal research relating to technology, SaaS, data privacy, intellectual property, commercial law, consumer protection, and other relevant matters.
  • Prepare clear and well-structured legal research memoranda, summaries, and recommendations for Legal Counsel’s review.
  • Monitor and summarize regulatory and legislative developments that may affect the business.
  • Draft and support the review of commercial agreements, including: SaaS and subscription agreements, Master service agreements, Data processing agreements, Non-disclosure agreements, Vendor and partner agreements, Service-level agreements, Software licensing agreements.
  • Redline and mark up contracts under Legal Counsel’s supervision.
  • Support the preparation of internal policies, compliance materials, and corporate governance documents.
  • Assist in preparing documentation, exhibits, timelines, and case chronologies for disputes, litigation, and regulatory matters.
  • Track legal deadlines, filings, contractual obligations, and case-status updates.
  • Receive and triage internal legal requests, escalating complex or high-risk matters to Legal Counsel.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to obtain information and documentation required for legal matters.
  • Maintain confidentiality and ensure the appropriate handling of sensitive legal and business information.
