Requirements

  • 1 to 3 years of civil litigation experience preferred
  • Paralegal certificate preferred
  • Experience with state filing systems (e.g., One Touch and One Legal).
  • Knowledge of court rules and calendaring deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines in a fast-paced legal environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal case management software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and manage attorney calendars, including court appearances, hearings, deadlines, meetings, and appointments.
  • Calculate and calendar litigation deadlines in accordance with applicable court rules, local rules, and scheduling orders.
  • Monitor upcoming deadlines and proactively remind attorneys and staff of time-sensitive matters.
  • Prepare, review, and electronically file legal documents through state and federal e-filing systems.
  • Ensure filings comply with court formatting requirements, filing procedures, and deadlines.
  • Serve and distribute filed documents to clients, opposing counsel, and other parties as required.
  • Retrieve filed documents, notices, and court orders from electronic filing systems and distribute them promptly.
  • Maintain accurate docket and case management records within the firm's case management software.
  • Track filing confirmations, rejected filings, and required corrections to ensure timely resubmission.
  • Coordinate with attorneys and support staff to obtain finalized documents for filing before deadlines.
  • Monitor court notifications, electronic service, and docket updates for assigned matters.
  • Maintain confidentiality of client information and adhere to firm policies and legal ethics requirements.
