Under the supervision of the Senior Paralegal, the Legal Assistant will provide administrative and operational support to the Legal Affairs Department, including but not limited to the following responsibilities:

Requirements

  • High school diploma or a vocational diploma (DEP) in Administration, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a similar role.
  • Bilingualism required: English and French, both written and spoken.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (advanced Excel skills are considered an asset) and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and prioritization skills.
  • Versatile, resourceful, proactive, and self-motivated, with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills with strong active listening abilities.
  • Self-motivated with a strong sense of initiative.
  • Strong analytical skills and strategic thinking abilities.
  • Customer service-oriented with a strong client-focused approach.
  • Confident and assertive, with the ability to perform effectively under pressure.

Nice To Haves

  • advanced Excel skills are considered an asset

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update departmental file lists, tracking logs, calendars, and governance tools.
  • Provide administrative support to lawyers and paralegals, including: Compiling and organizing legal documents.
  • Coordinating legal files and departmental activities.
  • Coordinating document execution and obtaining signatures.
  • Drafting ancillary agreements, amendments, correspondence, letters, and extension agreements.
  • Perform any other related duties as assigned.
