About The Position

The Legal Assistant provides essential administrative support to the legal department and attorneys, including compliance, legal documentation maintenance, meeting coordination, and corporate records management.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience supporting Executive or Senior Staff required.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio) required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, problem-solving, planning, and analysis skills.
  • Capable of meeting multiple deadlines, maintaining confidentiality, implementing process improvement changes, working in a team environment, paying close attention to details, and adapting to a changing environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience in a law firm or corporate legal department preferred.
  • Prior experience in a Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) or public company environment is highly desirable.
  • Current Notary Public appointment preferred, or willingness to obtain within six (6) months of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain reporting information and documentation for the Legal Department and Company, including confidential and time-sensitive matters.
  • Support AVPs, VPs, and SVPs in the legal department with invoicing, correspondence, compliance, tracking sheets, contracts, and calendaring.
  • Prepare meeting materials and coordinate meetings.
  • Serve as the Company point of contact for Service of Process and legal mail; track and log receipt of legal documents and disseminate mail to appropriate departments.
  • Maintain record storage, filing, and binders for the Legal Department.
