Our teams are driven, collaborative, and committed to delivering results. We are seeking a motivated Litigation Assistant to join our Plano, TX-based team.

Requirements

  • At least two-years general office experience with at least one-year legal office experience or equivalent education.
  • Knowledge of legal principles and legal terminology.
  • Proficient with MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel).
  • Ability to work with databases and on-line technological platforms.
  • Ability to be self-reliant and able to initiate communication with management.
  • Excellent interpersonal and analytical skills.
  • Ability to be detail-oriented, diligent, and flexible.
  • Ability to handle conflicting time demands and focus on task completion with little direction or need for supervisory follow-up.
  • Proficient command of the English language in both oral and written format.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in a professional manner.
  • Ability to operate basic office equipment such as a copy machine, fax machine, printer, scanner, and computer.

Responsibilities

  • Review files to determine status and appropriate next steps.
  • Follow up with internal and external parties to resolve issues.
  • Follow up to ensure files move through litigation and post judgment process efficiently.
  • Obtain legal documents from court websites.
  • Import documents into the Firm’s case management system.
  • File legal documents with the court.
  • Assist with docket management.
  • Prepare, review, and assemble trial packages.
  • Generate and prepare legal documents for Attorney review.
  • Generate and track judgment documents.
  • Communicate with enforcement officers, courts, banks, process servers, attorneys, and consumers.
  • Record information in the Firm’s case management system.
