About The Position

Lippes Mathias is seeking a detail-oriented, proactive Legal Assistant to join our team and provide comprehensive administrative and legal support across multiple practice areas. Requirements

  • Associate degree in a related field or Paralegal Certificate
  • At least one (1) year of experience in a law firm environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational abilities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with legal practice software is a plus
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion
  • Strong multitasking skills and the ability to meet deadlines in a dynamic environment

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting multiple attorneys or practice areas
  • Knowledge of court rules, filing procedures, or legal terminology
  • Prior experience with case management systems (e.g., iManage, ProLaw)

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, format, and proofread legal documents, correspondence, and filings
  • Manage calendars, schedule meetings, and coordinate attorney appointments
  • Maintain and organize both physical and electronic case files
  • Assist with client communication, including responding to inquiries and collecting information
  • Process incoming and outgoing mail, court documents, and service of process
  • Conduct basic legal research and gather case-related information as requested
  • Support billing processes, including time entry and invoice preparation
  • Provide general administrative support to attorneys and the legal team
