About The Position

Weber Gallagher is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join our Bedminster office, supporting attorneys in the areas of litigation and medical malpractice. This is an excellent opportunity to become an integral part of a collaborative legal team, providing essential administrative and litigation support while contributing to the successful handling of a diverse caseload. As a Legal Assistant, you will work closely with attorneys and legal staff on all aspects of case management, litigation support, and client service. We are looking for a candidate who is organized, proactive, and eager to take ownership of responsibilities while developing their legal career in a fast-paced and supportive environment.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience as a Legal Assistant supporting attorneys in litigation, insurance defense, medical malpractice or related practice areas.
  • Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience coordinating court filings, scheduling, and case management activities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, required.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with attorneys and staff.
  • Ability to work a hybrid schedule, 4 days per week on-site in our Bedminster, NJ office.

Responsibilities

  • Assist attorneys in all aspects of insurance defense, liability and medical malpractice.
  • Prepare, edit, and file legal documents with New Jersey courts in accordance with applicable rules and procedures.
  • Draft correspondence, pleadings, discovery requests and responses, motions, notices, and other legal documents.
  • Coordinate and schedule hearings, mediations, depositions, client meetings, and other case-related events.
  • Maintain attorney calendars and monitor case deadlines.
  • Organize and maintain client files, ensuring case records are accurate, complete, and up to date.
  • Communicate professionally with clients, courts, opposing counsel, expert witnesses, insurance representatives, and other third parties.
  • Assist with billing, expense tracking, and other administrative functions as needed.
  • Provide general litigation and case management support.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
