About The Position

The Legal Assistant for Optima Tax Relief, LLC (“Optima”) is located in the Santa Ana, California office and reports to the Director of Brand Protection Senior Corporate Counsel. This role provides support to the Brand Protection team including: factual research; data compilation and analysis; drafting legal documents and affidavits; assisting with escalated client matters, customer service, operational related issues, social media inquiries, employee-related matters; and, under supervision, conveying routine legal information to stakeholders. This role must also champion Optima’s culture and Core Values and help to deliver the best customer experience. In order to be provided the essential training required to be successful in this role, it is mandatory that you are present for and complete all essential/initial training onsite for up to 5 business days (unless prior management approval is provided). Please note that additional onsite training may be required depending on business need.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree or two years' college coursework in a related field from an accredited institution.
  • 1-2 years relevant experience preferred.
  • A positive mindset and "get-it-done" attitude.
  • Excellent organizational, time-management, written, and communication skills.
  • Ability to investigate and analyze information and draw conclusions.
  • Knowledge of the basic principles and procedures of legal research.
  • History of successfully exceeding goals in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong work ethic and commitment to excellence.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and high sense of accountability.
  • Proficient and comfortable with office equipment (Computer skills – Microsoft Office, Outlook).
  • Strong ability to multi-task.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine and specific legal and factual information research and data compilation, as directed.
  • Assist in drafting statements for review pertaining to escalated client matters, customer service, various specific policies, operational practices, and/or transactions.
  • Compile, review, and organize evidence and other information for escalated client matters, social media inquiries, internal hearings, and meetings.
  • Draft and review contracts, including performing initial review of contracts and settlement agreements.
  • Draft routine pleadings, statements, affidavits, and/or other legal documentation.
  • Identify relevant legal articles, laws, and judicial decisions for cases.
  • Other duties as assigned.
