About The Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Legal Assistant to support attorneys handling replevin, creditors' rights, and secured collateral recovery matters. This position plays an important role in managing case files, coordinating court filings, maintaining client relationships, and assisting attorneys throughout the litigation process. The ideal candidate is a proactive professional with strong administrative and legal support experience, exceptional communication skills, and a commitment to providing outstanding service to clients.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a Legal Assistant, Litigation Assistant, or in a related legal support role.
  • Experience with electronic court filing systems (e-filing).
  • Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities.
  • Exceptional customer service and client communication skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and legal case management software.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree, Paralegal Certificate, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in replevin, creditors' rights, collections, secured transactions, repossession matters, or asset recovery litigation.
  • Paralegal certification.
  • Knowledge of civil litigation procedures and court rules.
  • Understanding of replevin actions, creditors' rights, and secured collateral recovery.
  • Strong legal drafting and document preparation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor case deadlines, hearings, filing requirements, and court schedules.
  • Track service of process, court orders, writs, and recovery actions.
  • Maintain accurate case notes and updates within case management systems.
  • Assist attorneys in managing cases from inception through resolution.
  • Organize and maintain electronic case files, ensuring documents are complete and easily accessible.
  • Coordinate follow-up activities and ensure timely progression of matters.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, providing updates on case status and next steps.
  • Build positive working relationships through professional, responsive, and empathetic communication.
  • Answer client questions regarding case progress, required documentation, and procedural matters.
  • Request, collect, and organize documents and information needed to support legal actions.
  • Keep clients informed of significant case developments, court dates, and recovery efforts.
  • Communicate with clients by phone, email, and written correspondence while ensuring a high level of client service.
  • Escalate legal questions and complex issues to attorneys as appropriate.
  • Maintain professionalism and confidentiality when handling sensitive client information.
  • Prepare and file pleadings, motions, notices, affidavits, summonses, and proposed orders.
  • Draft replevin complaints and supporting documentation under attorney supervision.
  • Assemble exhibits, evidence, and supporting documentation for court filings.
  • Prepare writ packages and coordinate issuance of replevin orders.
  • Review documents for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with court requirements.
  • Electronically file legal documents with state and local courts.
  • Ensure compliance with court rules, filing deadlines, and procedural requirements.
  • Obtain certified copies of court documents and orders as needed.
  • Coordinate hearing dates, court appearances, and related scheduling.
  • Monitor court dockets and communicate updates to attorneys and clients.
  • Communicate with storage facilities, law enforcement agencies, process servers, and third-party vendors.
  • Gather information and documentation necessary for replevin filings and enforcement actions.
  • Coordinate activities related to recovery efforts and court-authorized asset retrieval.
  • Maintain records of communications and case-related activities.
  • Assist with obtaining documentation related to ownership, titles, liens, and collateral.
  • Coordinate execution of replevin orders and recovery efforts with clients.
  • Monitor the status of recovered property and related documentation.
  • Maintain records regarding recovered assets and disposition information.
  • Manage attorney calendars and schedule hearings, meetings, and depositions.
  • Prepare correspondence, reports, and legal communications.
  • Process incoming mail, court notices, and legal documents.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of client and case information.
  • Support attorneys and staff with special projects and administrative tasks as needed.
