About The Position

We are hiring a full-time Legal Assistant to support a Partner in our Family Law practice. This role is fully in-person in our Roseland, NJ office and requires someone who is organized, responsive, and comfortable working in a fast-moving environment with shifting priorities. The ideal candidate is patient, precise, and able to manage frequent revisions and high-volume administrative work.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of family law experience in a law firm environment.
  • Working knowledge of New Jersey family law procedures and court rules.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Word for document formatting and revisions); experience with Kofax or similar tools is a plus.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong drafting and proofreading abilities with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle frequent edits and feedback while remaining organized and accurate.
  • Professional communication skills and ability to work with clients in sensitive situations.
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • experience with Kofax or similar tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct daily support managing calendars, deadlines, and scheduling.
  • Draft, revise, and format legal documents, correspondence, and filings with strong attention to detail.
  • Transcribe dictation and electronic recordings accurately.
  • Manage document revisions and edits based on attorney feedback.
  • Handle e-filing and coordinate with court staff, experts, and opposing counsel.
  • Communicate professionally with clients regarding document requests and case updates.
  • Maintain organized case files and track deadlines.
  • Assist with general administrative tasks, including document management and scanning.
  • Support billing activities, including preparing draft bills and tracking collections.
  • Provide backup support to other attorneys as needed.
