About The Position

Haynsworth Sinkler Boyd, P.A. With more than 110 attorneys, we encompass a broad spectrum of transactional and litigation practice areas for large corporations, small businesses, and governmental entities. We currently have an opening in the Columbia office for an onsite, fulltime Legal Assistant for the Real Estate practice group. The ideal candidate would process the following qualifications:

Requirements

  • Proficient and accurate typing skills required with a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Able to multi-task, meet tight deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Attention to detail
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in a closing attorney's firm

Nice To Haves

  • Associates degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • Experience with SoftPro a plus

Responsibilities

  • Assist closing paralegals and attorneys as needed in all phases of a busy commercial real estate practice, including proper file indexing of documents and emails
  • Preparation of engagement letters and conflict waivers
  • Opening of new files
  • Preparing conflict checks, legal transcription/dictation, downloading filings, correspondence, travel arrangements, billing, invoice processing, and other duties as assigned
