Our Legal Assistant II (LA2) team is the operational backbone of our practice strategy, keeping our attorneys and paralegals organized, synchronized, and ready for battle. In this role, you will provide high-level administrative and legal support, ensuring no deadline is missed and every client feels heard, valued, and supported through their toughest chapters.

Requirements

  • 6 months to 1 year of experience working in at least one or more of the following areas: family law, estate planning, probate, or civil litigation.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • A detail-focused self-starter with the ability to manage competing priorities and remain highly organized in a fast-paced legal environment.
  • Literacy in Google Workspace, and a strong adaptability to learn specialized legal tech and case management software like Clio.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills paired with a positive, professional demeanor.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is highly preferred.
  • An Associate’s degree or completion of a paralegal program is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor deadlines and maintain rigorous attorney calendars, including court dates, hearings, and daily schedules.
  • Conduct regular docket checks to ensure absolute preparation.
  • Gather, track, and update critical client documentation, case inventories, financial information, and the Attorney’s Case Review Sheet.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact by responding to client calls and emails promptly and professionally, and drafting weekly docket check and monthly status letters.
  • Organize and maintain electronic and physical client files.
  • Partner with the legal team to curate client binders and ensure seamless trial preparation.
  • Attend daily morning meetings and weekly team reviews, tracking billable hours accurately to maintain a minimum of 1,500 billable hours per calendar year.
