About The Position

As a Legal Assistant 2 with the Unemployment Compensation Board of Review, you will play an important part in helping resolve appeals at the Philadelphia Referee Office. This position allows you to support hearings, manage case records, and assist with legal procedures. Requirements

  • One year as a Legal Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Four years of responsible clerical, investigative or enforcement work including one year of legal clerical support experience; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Meet the PA residency requirement.
  • Be able to perform essential job functions.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to telework part-time after successful completion of training.
  • Must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania to telework.
  • Option to report to the headquarters office in Philadelphia if unable to telework.

Responsibilities

  • Review appeals, organize exhibits, and prepare notices and schedules for hearings.
  • Maintain electronic and paper case files and distribute documents to appropriate parties.
  • Transcribe and prepare decisions, ensuring all issues and findings are addressed.
  • Respond to calls, emails, and visitors, providing accurate information about appeals procedures.
  • Upload hearings, proofread legal documents, and input information into tracking systems.
  • Review time records, identify errors, and ensure accurate entries in required systems.
