This position is open only to current employees of the King County Prosecuting Attorney's Office. Applicants must serve and pass their six-month probation period in their current position in order to be eligible to apply. The role involves receiving, processing, and maintaining police referrals and follow-up for all non-DV misdemeanor cases. It requires managing a high volume of misdemeanor case management, including PbK case pre-filing, distribution, and declines. The position also involves preparing felony drop downs for filing, working with Filing DPAs to prepare and create documents for filing with three courts (Seattle, Redmond, and Kent), and assisting with daily jail calendar docketing/updating PbK. Additionally, the role supports the Discovery Paralegal in preparing referrals for the daily jail calendar, answers phone calls, responds to emails, and assists the Unit Chair, Vice Chair, and LSP supervisor as requested. The position also requires attending mandatory RESJ trainings and active participation in PAO equity work, including attending equity trainings and discussions, and providing support for the Race, Equity and Social Justice policy and principles. Additional responsibilities and/or tasks may be incorporated, or existing ones modified as business needs evolve.
