About The Position

This position is responsible for providing administrative and technical support to the Legal Department – Claims Team as well as to General Counsel. Develops and maintains systems/applications to meet the needs of the Legal Department. Performs data collection, compilation, reporting and distribution, as well as general legal assistant functions including arranging for payment of invoices and settlements. Works independently. This position is in a hybrid status with a minimum of 1 day per week in the office for collaboration, teamwork, and business needs. The status and minimum in-office requirements are subject to change based on evolving business needs.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in business administration or legal studies or related field preferred or equivalent work experience required
  • 3 ~ 5 years of Direct experience in a legal administrative or support role required
  • Prior experience supporting litigation functions in a law firm or corporate legal department
  • Intermediate level Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint skills
  • Intermediate level Microsoft Excel skills
  • Intermediate level system(s) skills in experience with legal case management systems, document management systems, and general office technology
  • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively while maintaining confidentiality

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and reports data in CMS (Claims Management System).
  • Create various reports and collect specific information from CMS system for Discovery on claims as well as other reports.
  • Prepares special reports or information into PC generated reports from actuaries and reviews them for accuracy, including reserves, payments and status.
  • Reviews, facilitates and directs payment of invoices and settlement checks with internal and/ or external resources.
  • Complete Medicare reporting and audits to ensure Company Compliance with Federal Regulations.
  • Operates general office equipment and copying equipment.
  • Performs research of files and routine computer research as required.
  • Provide Notary services on legal documents.
  • Provide information and coordinates activities with various internal and external sources.
  • Handles confidential information and materials.
  • Understand and follow Quality Management System guidelines
  • Performs other duties as assigned within the scope of responsibilities and requirements of the job
