About The Position

Join our legal team as a vital operational partner to Staff Counsel Attorneys. In this role, you'll manage legal documents and case information, process and distribute high-volume mail and correspondence, maintain accurate records within case management systems, and serve as a key resource for internal and external inquiries. You'll play an important role in keeping litigation operations organized, efficient, and moving forward in a fast-paced legal environment. This position requires working onsite five days per week in our Nashville, TN office.

Requirements

  • 1-3+ years of experience in a litigation setting or prior insurance defense experience preferred.
  • Regular, predictable attendance is an essential function of this job.
  • Good communications skills including the ability to maintain a courteous and professional demeanor with clients, customers and with fellow employees
  • Mail handling experience
  • Clerical and administrative support experience
  • Intermediate knowledge of software applications including Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel, Internet, and other web-based applications
  • Ability to prioritize work and organize own time
  • Ability to complete professional, error free documents utilizing good grammar, spelling and format skills, including accurate preparation of legal pleadings, agreement letters, memoranda reports, outlines, schedules and client communications

Responsibilities

  • Handle all incoming mail (high volume) – maintaining, sorting and distribution of mail
  • Handle confidential information
  • May handle calls and inquiries in an accurate and timely manner
  • Ability to provide "knowledge transfer" to new employees on the team within this role
  • Makes basic decision within established procedures under supervision
  • May enter and manage data, including pleadings, motions and trials, arbitration and mediation letters
  • May manage calendars and files related to events and details in the case management systems
  • Monitors and maintains compliance with Team Connect (Litigation Management System)
