About The Position

Founded in 1920, Akerman is recognized as one of the nation’s premier law firms, with more than 700 lawyers across the United States. Akerman is seeking an experienced Legal Administrative Assistant to support multiple attorneys in the Intellectual Property Practice Group. The successful candidate must be highly motivated with no less than five years of experience, preferred in a law firm environment.

Requirements

  • Thorough knowledge of patent and trademark prosecution processes and terminology
  • Working knowledge of the USPTO and the Patent Center and related forms
  • Working knowledge of the PTAB and TTAB courts and their electronic case access and filing systems
  • Familiarity with commercial litigation and intellectual property litigation processes
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to communicate with clients, attorneys and co-workers effectively and efficiently
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Works well independently
  • Reliable and dependable team player
  • Able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and tight deadlines
