About The Position

This is a three-year appointment beginning July 1, 2027, with the possibility of indefinite renewals based on favorable performance reviews and program needs. The standard teaching load is 6 courses per year (3-3). Candidates should be prepared to teach courses in their specialization and WGS core courses - Introduction to Women’s and Gender Studies (WGS.101) and Feminist Thought (WGS.301). Responsibilities include teaching three courses per semester, course creation, interacting with students, curriculum revision and improvement, interacting with the program and Registrar’s office, and overseeing student theses.

Requirements

  • Masters (in hand or expected by August 2027) in a relevant discipline in the humanities, social sciences, or related transdisciplinary fields.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience teaching courses related to technology, visual arts, public health, social movements, labor, Indigenous Studies, and/or Black Studies from a WGS perspective
  • Graduate training in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies and/or strong interdisciplinary background
  • A strong research portfolio
