The Department of Criminal Justice Administration at Middle Tennessee State University invites applicants for a full-time, temporary (non-tenurable) faculty position (#121020) at the rank of lecturer. This is a one-year temporary appointment. The contract may be renewed annually based on available funding, demonstrated need, and satisfactory performance as assessed by annual evaluations. The appointment start date is August 1, 2026. Teaching responsibilities include a combination of undergraduate courses in Introduction to Criminal Justice, Judicial Process, Criminal Investigations, and other courses as determined by department needs. The successful candidate is expected to teach courses on-site and online and to be regularly available to students during office hours. In addition, the successful candidate must be a resident of Tennessee by the appointment date and occasionally meet with the department chair or administrators. Travel expenses are the responsibility of the faculty member. Before beginning online courses, the lecturer must receive the appropriate training to teach online courses for MTSU.
