About The Position

The Advanced Computing Center for the Arts and Design seeks a Lecturer to teach two sections of ACCAD 5102 Programming Concepts in Spring 2027. The Lecturer also prepares syllabi and course materials for assigned courses, holds office hours, grades assignments and submits grades by deadlines, and communicates regularly with students.

The role supports student learning through effective instructional planning and course preparation, timely evaluation and return of student work, accurate progress records, and compliance with university policies and department standards. The Lecturer must maintain the confidentiality of student information in accordance with FERPA.

Requirements

• Terminal degree or equivalent in Fine Arts, Design, Theater, Art and Technology, or a related interdisciplinary field.
• Relevant teaching and/or industry experience in Art and Technology, interactive media, experiential design, or related fields; graduate teaching experience is acceptable.
• Ability to support instruction in interactive media, experiential design, and live or embodied performance technologies.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to or demonstrated efforts in teaching that reflect Ohio State’s Shared Values.

Responsibilities

• Teach two sections of ACCAD 5102 Programming Concepts in Spring 2027.
• Prepare syllabi and course materials for assigned courses.
• Hold office hours and meet scheduled classes in accordance with university policy.
• Plan and organize instruction to maximize student learning.
• Ensure curriculum implementation and course preparation in accordance with department standards.
• Prepare homework and exams, evaluate student work, and return it in a timely manner.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and submit final grade rosters by university deadlines.
• Communicate regularly with students.
• Maintain confidentiality of student information in accordance with FERPA.
