About The Position

The Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (IFAS) is seeking a 12-month, full-time, non-tenure-accruing Lecturer for the Food and Resource Economics Department. This is a time-limited position focused 100% on teaching undergraduate courses, both on-campus and online, in agricultural economics and agribusiness. A successful candidate with a Ph.D. may use the working title 'Instructional Assistant Professor'. The role involves scholarly activities related to instruction, including teaching, advising students, curriculum development, seeking funding for the teaching program, supervising undergraduate research, publishing teaching-related scholarship, producing learning tools, and engaging in professional development. Faculty are encouraged to support the CALS Honors Program.

Requirements

  • A master’s degree (foreign equivalent acceptable) in agricultural economics or a closely related discipline.
  • Demonstrated skills in verbal and written communication.
  • Demonstrated skills in interpersonal relationships.

  • Eligibility to work in the US.

Nice To Haves

  • A doctoral degree (foreign equivalent acceptable) in agricultural economics or a closely related discipline.
  • Previous teaching experience in person and online.
  • Procurement of extramural funding.
  • Ability to teach courses in agricultural economics and one or more of the following focus areas: agribusiness management; agribusiness financial planning; and machine learning for economists.

Responsibilities
