Lecturer What you will do: This posting will establish and maintain a pool of part-time lecturers with experience teaching general Ethnic Studies courses, such as the Introduction to Ethnic Studies, Indigenous Studies and courses within their area of expertise, for the Department of Ethnic Studies in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at the University of Colorado Denver. Lecturers may be asked to teach on campus or fully online. By submitting your application, you will become part of an applicant pool. Candidates hired from this pool will fill temporary, non-tenure track positions and will teach no more than two courses per semester. Appointments will be part-time (less than 50%25) and will be made semester-by-semester, depending on the needs of the department and subject to budgetary approval. Therefore, this posting does not necessarily reflect a current open position. We will contact you if an opening suits your qualifications.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Ethnic Studies or related field
  • Ability to sit for extended periods, stand and walk occasionally, reach with hands and arms, use hands to manipulate a keyboard and mouse, and have good near vision for computer work.
  • Ability to work effectively in a remote setting, including maintaining a dedicated workspace free of excessive noise or distractions, reliable internet connectivity, and the ability to participate in virtual meetings for extended periods.
  • Ability to independently manage time, remain stationary for prolonged computer-based work, and transport necessary equipment (such as a laptop and peripherals) between their remote work location and the office as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience teaching Ethnic Studies courses.
  • Prior experience teaching online using the Canvas LMS.
