About The Position

The Advanced Computing Center for the Arts and Design (ACCAD) at The Ohio State University seeks a Lecturer to teach ACCAD 5301: Devising Experiential Media in Autumn 2026. In addition to teaching, the Lecturer will prepare syllabi and course materials, hold office hours, grade assignments and submit grades by deadlines, and communicate regularly with students. This role involves planning and organizing instruction to maximize student learning, meeting scheduled classes and office hours, ensuring curriculum implementation, preparing and evaluating student work in a timely manner, maintaining accurate student progress records, and submitting final grades according to university deadlines. Confidentiality of student information must be maintained in accordance with FERPA.

Requirements

  • Terminal degree or equivalent in Fine Arts, Design, Theater, Art and Technology, or a related interdisciplinary field.
  • Relevant teaching and/or industry experience in Art and Technology, interactive media, experiential design, or related fields.
  • Graduate teaching experience acceptable.
  • Ability to support instruction in interactive media, experiential design, and live or embodied performance technologies.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to or demonstrated efforts in teaching that reflect Ohio State’s Shared Values.

Responsibilities

  • Teach ACCAD 5301: Devising Experiential Media in Autumn 2026.
  • Prepare syllabi and course materials for assigned courses.
  • Hold office hours.
  • Grade assignments and submit grades by deadlines.
  • Communicate regularly with students.
  • Plan and organize instruction in ways which maximize student learning.
  • Meet scheduled classes and office hours in accordance with university policy.
  • Ensure curriculum implementation and course preparation in accordance with department standards.
  • Prepare homework and exams, evaluate, and return student work in a timely manner to promote learning.
  • Maintain accurate records of students’ progress and submit final grade roster in accordance with established university deadlines.
  • Maintain confidentiality of student information in accordance with FERPA.
